Empowering change with the Alzheimer’s Association

Overview

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support, and research. They work to raise awareness, provide critical resources to families, and fund research aimed at preventing, treating, and ultimately curing Alzheimer’s disease.

We partnered with the Association to produce a deeply personal video spotlighting Starla and her wife Ashley. The video follows Starla’s journey, recounting memories of her father’s battle with Alzheimer’s, her mother’s evolving role as a caretaker, and confronting Starla’s own fears as she enters her 50s and considers the possibility of genetic inheritance.

How We Pulled it Off

Pre-Production

We collaborated closely with the Association to shape the story, draft interview questions, and collect archival materials. A pre-interview with Starla helped us build trust and prepare a thoughtful, empathetic approach to filming.

Production

Our team handled all direction and crew. We filmed interviews and b-roll on location with Starla and Ashley, capturing their reflections in an environment that encouraged openness and authenticity. Emotional moments were handled with care, allowing space for honest, human storytelling.

Post-Production

We worked hand-in-hand with key stakeholders to identify selects, refine the narrative arc, and incorporate their feedback. The final video weaves together interview footage, archival materials, and tender b-roll to create a hopeful, emotionally resonant piece that brings awareness to the ongoing impact of Alzheimer’s on families, and highlight Alzheimer’s Association’s impact on families like Starla and Ashley’s.
