Overview

Basketball Or Nothing is a Netflix Original that takes place in Navajo Nation, the largest tribal area in the country, and it focuses on the Chinle Arizona boys basketball team, their lives, their hardships, and their hopes for the future. All That’s Good was brought on to co-produce, co-direct, shoot, and edit this project. GA Tour star Rickie Fowler and NBC Golf Analyst Notah Begay III served as Executive Producers for the series. Basketball or Nothing was nominated for Outstanding Serialized Documentary alongside Hard Knocks & Last Chance U.

How We Pulled it Off

Pre-Production

We collaborated closely with our production partners and key contacts on the Navajo reservation to orchestrate an extended on-location shoot with the Chinle, Arizona boys’ basketball team. This involved meticulously managing travel logistics, crew scheduling, talent access, and budget constraints to ensure a seamless production.

Production

Our team dedicated several months to filming on and off the Navajo reservation, working with a tight-knit skeleton crew and immersing ourselves in the story as it unfolded around the talent. During pre-production and production, the project had yet to be acquired by Netflix, and its final home was still uncertain, but we remained determined to amplify this powerful story.

Post-Production

We had a robust in-house post-production team working days and nights to craft this story into a compelling six-episode series. We collaborated closely with Netflix executives, coordinated additional shoots in Arizona for crucial pickups, and navigated tight deadlines – adapting and refining the narrative as needed. Every aspect of post-production, from editing and story producing to supervision and motion graphics, was executed in our post-production facility in Old City, Philadelphia.
